        Blog.

So I think the title pretty much says it all. =P 

I had intended on putting up something else for this Monday post but over the weekend i was in bed with a bucket. It was not fun and I wasn't up for much of anything or doing anything except sleeping. Recovered somewhat now, I'm keeping this one simple, so heres a link to my new blog with some sample pictures below, hope you like it and feel free to follow and comment on what you think!

Prezent time again!

And amongst a few other things, I gave the gift of puzzle face.... 

So, as always I like to give something made (if I have the time) as an additional something for birthday grifts. So this time I have to think of a gift for an adorkable 3 year old, Aisha. So I figured that Puzzles aren't something that are given as gifts that much anymore, not like books, cuddlies or your ush franchizze stuff. 

So with that decided all I had to do was choose my image and paint away. 

These are the colours
 and shimmers that I
used for the whole thing.

Then I primed the pieces with some simple PVA, just to fill in the grains and grooves of the paint to protect it the little bit from chocolaty fingers and snotty noses.  

     

And Finally it was finished

 and wrapped! 

Reviewing Old Character Sketches....

So I'm branching out into character design now, still refreshing my brain and hands how to draw again. So to start with my character designing I thought I should review some old characters that haven't really ever seen the light of day, as ush'.  So here for now are some of my older characters and soon hopefully I will be uploading some new characters. The first three images were for an old friend of mine that I bumped into on the bus one day and she asked me to draw a few poses for one of her characters she was thinking of making into a comic. I'm not quite sure what happened to that idea, but here are some pictures of Beatrice McGuires (aka BT.)  character that I drew for her.

To the Natural History Museum!

And so I did, a grand time it was. I havent been to the Museum for at least 20 years. ⁀⊙﹏☉⁀

I know, not good enough. Last time I visited it was on a school trip and I remember it strongly was this trip was uber special because my ma' was a guardian. My ma' is awesome and is the best cook ever!!! So I earned some pop points their. Go me. =p

But! I digress, I was with a friend this visit who was kind enough to re introduce me to the museum and patient enough to sit and wait while I did these few sketches. So thank you kindly Hayley. 

I also learned on this trip, that I really need to practice drawing cats.

Perspective Drawing!

Yay! I'm learning to draw....again! 

Lo ho la! So i'm reaching the end of a series of projects that seem to have gone on for far too long. Not that long projects are bad, but its always good to reach the end of a creative milestone and finally sigh, '...Finished'.  That also means that now thats over with that new creative things are on the horizon! YAAY! 

So I have decided to get back into drawing. I feel have branched away from drawing illustrations, so i'm making my way back slowly by practicing the essentials. Perspective is what i chose first.

The above drawing I drew from observation with what I could  remember from 

learning about perspective drawing. Completed in 1.30

This drawing is after I refreshed my memory on le youtube and my books. 

This took took just under an hour, and was a lot easier with a ruler.

So above is one and two point perspectives, I think i'll try a few more of these before I tackle a 3 point or 

however many point perspective.

I Made a Tabloo....

...Why? I Have No Idea. 

It started with a little house for my main logo character, witchpencil, made by the wonderful Aimee Williams. Or better known to her students Miss Williams. I believe I've mentioned her before on this blog, we do do (hehehe, i said doodoo) quite a bit of crafting together, is always a lot of fun.

So as i said, no idea why this was made, but when do we need an excuse to make something these days, huh? So below are some pics of the process of making the tablo. Probably not the proper masterful technique, but none the less, it got the job done.

 

Making houses! 

Because a tablo needs a few houses. 

And Vola! i popped it into the garden to give a more ...realistic background.? Yes. Obviously. And this is what it looks like! 

And here i just messed around with the image in photoshop, but i was in a bit of a rush if i remember correctly, so i only spent maybe 10 mins on editing it. If you know photoshop, you can probably see. 

And Vola!

This is one way to waste your time, make a tablo! Because why not.
